Officials’ Re-certification Meeting December 4th

All official’s must recertify for the 2017-2020 Olympiad. All present certifications expire Dec 31, 2016.

There will be a group session on Sunday, December 4th from 2-5 PM at the CASCIAC Building in Cheshire on 30 Realty Dr.

Attending this session will certify you for USATF and NFHS Officiating. We will complete the SafeSport requirements as a group. The general Apprentice, Association, National, and Master reviews will be available. Specialty reviews for Masters level Track or Field Referee, Paralympic T&F, Implement Inspector (All levels), LDR/XC/Off-track Events (All levels), Race Walk (All levels), Technical Manager (All levels) are available upon request, but will not be discussed at this group session.

All renewing officials will receive one USATF Official’s polo at no charge. The uniform shirt is changing from blue and red to solid navy blue. The CIAC Official’s shirt will remain the same.

Those with at least two years of active officiating may upgrade their level. If you intend to upgrade to Association or National, please bring a resume of all meets worked. Include Meet, Date, Position and Contact. Those wishing to upgrade to the Masters level must have three years of active National level officiating experience on all levels (youth, Open, Masters), USATF Meets, and meets outside CT. Two letters, one from a meet director and one from a master official, specifically stating your qualities as an official, are also required. ALL RENEWING MASTER OFFICIALS MUST SUBMIT AN ACTIVE RESUME FOR 2013-16.

1) Please bring an electronic or hard copy of the 2016 USATF Rule Book. NFHS Rule Books will be provided.
2) Official’s Fee for this Olympiad is $40 ($10 per year) Please bring a check payable to USATF-CT.
3) Renew your USATF Membership on line and bring your 2017 membership number to meeting
4) Take the USATF Officials Background screening online this month (November). It is good for two years. The cost is $16.

You are also welcome to complete the recertification process on your own. Yvonne will send an instruction sheet with the details upon request. You will still receive a USATF officiating polo at no charge. No NFHS materials will be sent at this time. USATF certification only.
